Intellectual property and technology licensing

We identify intellectual property and know-how from RIKEN’s research results. Then, using intellectual property (IP) strategies geared toward practical applications, we provide end-to-end support—from filing for patents and securing rights, to introducing the IP to companies and negotiating licensing agreements.

Start-up support

We assist the establishment of start-ups that leverage RIKEN’s research results to create new social value, providing support both before and after launch.

Promotion of collaborative research and support for co-creation activities

We connect RIKEN with industry and support the use of RIKEN technologies to meet industrial needs.

New business development and commercialization support

We plan for and assist in the commercialization of new businesses that use RIKEN’s research assets, including tangible research equipment and facilities, and intangible data and know-how.
